Jeans from the 90's
Daisies in your hair, comfortable jeans with a very high waist, amphibians on your feet. The nineties era still lives on in our wardrobes today. And we don't mind it at all. But attention to detail. The dungarees, the top crops, the amphibians, the leather jackets and the chokers have never really abandoned us, but this year the trend of dressing nineties goes crazy even more than in previous seasons.
Beverly Hills 90210 aired throughout the 1990s, from 1990 to 2000. Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Tori Spelling and Luke Perry were (though not all of them) in the cast. Each had its own style, but also here as in Friends, the jeans worn by both boys and girls were inevitable, along with miniskirts, shirts and denim jackets.

Although often wearing more formal dresses or dresses, the protagonist, Lorelay Gilmore, often wore tight, flared jeans and denim jackets. (Warner Bros./Online USA)
90's jeans style
The sitcom Friends - with Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer - ran for 10 years, from 1994 to 2004. As you can see, jeans were worn by all the protagonists: clear, with a high and very narrow waist, with the leg widening, often accompanied by a white shirt or shirt.
If you scour vintage stores in search of pieces from the original mom jean era, you'll know that they're often made of super-rigid denim that can be tricky to fit into and tends to go baggy in a few wears — not ideal. Recently, Re/Done has made moves to help reconfigure these denim cuts for a modern age, and done so successfully. But, as fabric technology and design have developed over the past few decades, denim brands are finding newer ways to update the design. Levi's viral Ribcage Jeans and Everlane's high-rise '90s jeans are both made of 100 percent cotton, but with an updated fit. Mavi meanwhile incorporates stretch into their denim fabric while maintaining a rigid shape. Either way, recent iterations focus on customer comfort above all. "As an on-the-go society, consumers have come to expect a certain level of comfort from their jeans," adds Friedman. "We design our Vintage and '90s groups in true rigid denim looks paired with a softer touch and feel that move with you."
